Founded in 2005, TKW Karate has grown from a small local club into a respected and thriving martial arts community, known for its high standards of instruction and its commitment to developing confident, disciplined students. Specialising in Wado Kai Karate, one of the major styles of Japanese Karate, TKW blends traditional martial arts values with a modern coaching approach to support students of all ages and levels.  In 2018 we moved into our forever home, a bespoke dojo specifically renovated for TKW Karate to grow and flourish in.

Over the years, the club has expanded significantly—both in size and reputation. With a team of accomplished instructors, including international competitors, national champions, and Japan Karate Federation-certified examiners, TKW Karate has produced athletes who have proudly represented England and Great Britain at European and World-level competitions. At the same time, the club continues to welcome and nurture beginners, helping each individual reach their personal best—whether their goals are competitive or recreational.

TKW Karate maintains strong ties to Japan, with students and instructors regularly training and competing there to preserve the authenticity and spirit of Wado Kai. The club places equal emphasis on personal development, discipline, and respect, creating a positive and inclusive training environment.
